Student Performance Goal 1: All students will improve reading comprehension across all curricular areas.

Essence of Goal 1: Summarization is a key component to comprehension.

For Primary Grades: Students will participate in discussions, practice effective skills, and explore Internet sites.

For Upper Elementary: Students will analyze stories and complete story maps.

Student Performance Goal 2: All students will increase their scientific reasoning skills across the curriculum.

Essence of Goal 2: The skills of predicting and communicating are vital components of the science inquiry process.

Students will regularly use the Inquiry Process to participate in hands-on exploration in groups, with high school partners, and independently.
